Am I eligible for VAT exemption?
If you have a long-term illness or you’re disabled, you don’t have to pay VAT on certain goods and services that you buy. What this means is that VAT will not be charged on equipment and services covered by this scheme, that are of practical help to you because of your illness or disability.
Who qualifies for VAT exemption?
You qualify for VAT exemption if you are chronically ill or if you’re disabled. You are classed as being chronically ill or disabled if:
- You have a physical or mental impairment which has a long-term effect on your ability to carry out everyday activities;
- You suffer from a condition that a medical professional treats as a chronic sickness;
- You are terminally ill
When making a purchase through Bainbridge Mobility Ltd, you will be asked to sign a written statement confirming that you fulfil the required criteria for VAT exemption eligibility. You don’t have to buy the goods in person – if someone buys the goods for you, they can sign the statement on your behalf.
